Join the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton’s Board of Directors.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton is currently seeking volunteer members interested in serving on its Board of Directors.  We are a not-for-profit organization supporting meaningful mentorship opportunities for youth in the region.  Our mission is to enable life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people.

About our Board

The work of the Board of Directors is conducted using a committee structure. The Board meets regularly, on a monthly basis, 10 months of the year. Board members are expected to sit on one Committee of the Board.   Below is a link to the organization’s website that will provide an overview of our programs and services.  If you are interested in the opportunity to serve with a talented and committed group of Board volunteers who work to provide outstanding, quality programs and services to the youth in our community, please consider applying.

This voluntary role will provide you with a challenging and yet rewarding opportunity to contribute your skills, experience and talent and further develop your own skills while making a difference in the community we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with other board members to establish and review organizational goals, policies, and programs.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organization, representing its mission and values to external stakeholders.

Skills Needed

We are currently seeking applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Business Development
  • Fund development and donor stewardship
  • Communications and/or public relations
  • Strategic planning and evaluation
  • Insurance

Commitment

A minimum commitment of 2-5 hours per month is required for document review, board and committee meetings, events, volunteer recruitment and other tasks. Board members are elected to serve a two-year renewable term.
